Quotes...

"Spirituality is not to be learned in flight from the world, by fleeing from things to a place of solitude; rather, you must learn to maintain an inner solitude regardless of where you are or who you are with. You must learn to penetrate things and find God there." - Meister Eckhart -

100 Days

So on December 1st of 2005 I went up for my promotion -- a promotion that's been postponed for the past two years. A promotion that's been a tease and part of the source of my frustration at this organization. A promotion that should have never been -- meaning that the whole promotion process at this organization was a big joke; ironically enough, when I was through with my "promotion board" and had told the management a little about how / what I felt about this organization and its"process", the process was no more. It's back in its development stage now. Personally I think it's just a skewed term for "we'll make it look like it's a completely different process, but in the end it's the same crummy process disguised as the coolest innovative idea 'since the slice of bread' ."

So it's been 69 days since when I was "promoted" for more responsibility and higher salary.
The higher salary, however - along with the new title - isn't reflected anywhere.

After being "left in the dark" for a few weeks, and keeping a rather optimistic mindset towards this organization - giving it the benefit of the doubt, I finally spoke with the person in charge of the payroll system.

It so seems that the person in charge of updating my files never prepared and filed the forms to make changes in my salary to reflect the promotion; and now it will be 100 days since the promotion until the salary increase goes in effect.

So the projected date of first pay, reflecting the increase, will be March 10th.
I went through that crappy promotion board on December 1st.

With all the faith I have in this organization though, I truly believe that it will be weeks after March 10th - or even months after - that I will actually see the change in my pay. If at all.
