Quotes...

"Spirituality is not to be learned in flight from the world, by fleeing from things to a place of solitude; rather, you must learn to maintain an inner solitude regardless of where you are or who you are with. You must learn to penetrate things and find God there." - Meister Eckhart -

The Girl in Red

As I was walking into work this morning I noticed a girl in red shirt walking with some guy - in opposite direction of where I was headed. As she passed I gazed into her eyes. She was beautiful! Almost looked European.

I went to the career fair that we held at work. Went just to take a walk because I was bored. While I was walking towards the door, on my way out, I saw a girl in a red shirt walking towards the glass door from outside. I opened the door to get out, and normally I would have held the door open for her, but she was in an awkward position to where for me to hold the door would have been a bit of a trouble - probably for both of us. So I just kinda let her take the door and walked away.
On my walk towards the office I thought, "I should have taken the time to do it right."

On my drive out of work, my friend Liz called on my cell phone. The phone loses reception for about two minutes when I drive out of work, so I decided to park my car in a quiet parking lot where there are no cars around; and talk with her for a few minutes.
As I was talking with her on the phone, I saw a car pull up about four parking spots to the left of me. It was a girl driving the car, but couldn't see who it was. Then after a while, she stepped out of her car and checked on her headlights for a while, went back into her car, tried flashing her headlights, and walked back out to check it again. She did this several times.
While all this was going on, I was thinking, "I really should go over there and see if she needs any help." Seemed like she was having some kind of car problem; althought I don't know what. Her lights seemed to be fine.
Of course I couldn't think of a way to help the girl and talk to Liz and make everyone happy all at the same time. So eventually she drove off into the distance, never to be seen again.

After some time, I got off the phone with Liz and headed off myself. THEN it finally dawned on me! I could have told Liz I would call her back after a few minutes because there's a girl out here whom I think needs help with her car! DAMN!

So in one day, I saw this girl in a red shirt three times -- two of which could have led to a meaningful encounter, had I thought quicker and acted on my instncts instead of getting out of the way. DAMN!

I don't know whether she works for my company or not, but there couldn't have been a better opportunity than the two presented to me today. DAMN!

I hung out with my friend tonight after I got home. She looked good tonight. And I told her so.
As we walked into Gypsy Den, I noticed a girl sitting near the door. There was something striking about her, and I couldn't quiet place it.

Later my friend would go on to say, "doesn't that girl seem very sweet? ...like she works at a 50's diner or something."
THAT'S IT! Sweet!
I never thought of it that way before. I usually say, "cute", "beautiful", "gorgeous", "pretty", and seldom "attractive". But "sweet". That's something that had never occurred to me to say. And I must say, she did seem sweet. Very much so, in fact.
